And lo! it is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds, 192 The Faithful Spirit has descended with it, 193 Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners - 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And indeed it is mentioned in the earlier Books. 196 Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of Israel knew about this? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 and had he recited it unto them [in his own tongue,] they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We cause unbelief to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 But the (Penalty) will come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 and then Our torment will strike them, 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing. 212 (Muhammad), do not worship anything besides God lest you suffer the punishment. 213 And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, 214 And spread your wing of mercy for the believers following you. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you get up, 218 And watches your movements among those who prostrate in prayer. 219 Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? 221 They descend on every lying, wicked person, 222 The devils convey upon them what they heard, but most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, the erring follow them, 224 Art thou not aware that they roam confusedly through all the valleys [of words and thoughts,] 225 And they speak what they do not do? 226 Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned! 227
