Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif-Lam-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 These are the verses of the Book of wisdom. 2 a guidance and a mercy to those who do good, 3 who establish Prayer and pay Zakah, and have firm faith in the Hereafter. 4 these are rightly guided by their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty. 6 Whenever Our messages are conveyed to such a person, he turns away in his arrogance, as though he had not heard them -- as though his ears were sealed: give him, then, the tidings of grievous suffering [in the life to come]. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens of Delight. 8 Abiding in them; the promise of Allah; (a) true (promise), and He is the Mighty, the Wise. 9 He created the heavens without pillars you can see, and He cast on the earth firm mountains, lest it shake with you, and He scattered abroad in it all manner of crawling thing. And We sent down out of heaven water, and caused to grow in it of every generous kind. 10 this is God's creation. Show me then what those besides Him have created! The wrongdoers are in manifest error. 11
