Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 and covered them with torment. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
