Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven shall be cleft, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 Each soul will know what it had sent ahead and what it had left behind. 5 O man! What has deceived you about your generous Lord 6 Who created thee, then fashioned, then proportioned thee? 7 Shaping you into any form He pleased? 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,- 10 Generous and recording, 11 Who know (all) that ye do. 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 and the evil-doers will be in hell 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. 16 What do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 How then can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 18 The day on which no soul will have the authority over any other soul; and on that day, the entire command belongs to Allah. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
