The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 So that they shall be as scattered dust. 6 And you shall be three sorts. 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 The people of the left hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their left hands. How miserable they will be! 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 It is they who are the close ones. 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 a host of the ancients 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 There shall go round unto them youths ever-young. 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 And with fruits, any that they may select: 20 And with flesh of fowls from that which they desire. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 They will hear no nonsense there or talk of sin, 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 Among thorn-less lote-trees. 28 And clusters of banana plants. 29 and continuous shade, 30 and waters gushing, 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And raised couches. 34 Lo! We have created them a (new) creation 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 For those on the right. 38
