The 'Ad (people) rejected the messengers. 123 When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 124 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 125 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 126 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 127 Do you build monuments on every high place in vanity, 128 “And prefer strong palaces, that perhaps you may live for ever?” 129 "And when you seize, seize you as tyrants? 130 So fear Allah, and obey me. 131 Fear Him who has bestowed on you what you know, 132 amply provided you with flocks, and children, 133 And gardens and springs. 134 for, verily, I fear lest suffering befall you on an awesome day!" 135 They said: "It is the same to us whether you preach or be not of those who preach. 136 "This is no other than a customary device of the ancients, 137 And we are not going to be punished. 138 In this there is evidence (of the Truth), yet most of them do not have any faith. 139 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 140
