Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blessed is He in whose hands is the Kingdom and who has power over all things. 1 He created death and life so that He might test you, and find out which of you is best in conduct. He is the Mighty, the Most Forgiving One. 2 The One Who created the seven heavens atop each other; do you see any discrepancy in the creation of the Most Gracious? Therefore lift your gaze – do you see any cracks? 3 Then return thy gaze again, and again, and thy gaze comes back to thee dazzled, aweary. 4 We have decked the lowest heavens with torches. With these torches We have stoned the devils and We have prepared for them the torment of hell. 5 For those who believe not in their Lord there is the punishment of Hell; and what a wretched destination 6 When they are cast into it, they will hear it roar and raging 7 It almost explodes in rage. Whenever a group is thrown into it, its keepers will ask them, "Did no one come to warn you?" 8 They will say, "Yes, someone did come to warn us, but we rejected him saying, 'God has revealed nothing. You are in great error". 9 They will further say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!" 10 Thus will they come to realize their sins: but [by that time,] remote will have become all good from those who are destined for the blazing flame. 11 As for those who fear their Lord in the unseen will have forgiveness and a rich reward. 12 (Whether you) speak in secret or aloud, He knows the innermost of the chests. 13 Shall He not know, who created? And He is the All-subtle, the All-aware. 14
