Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
