Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

The power of Abu Lahab will perish, and he will perish. 1 His property and worldly gains will be of no help to him. 2 He will soon enter the flaming fire. 3 and so too will his wife who (threw thorns and firewood in the Prophet's way). 4 A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck! 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
