The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Reckoning for mankind is drawing near, yet they are heedless and turn away. 1 No mention comes to them anew from their Lord except that they listen to it while they are at play 2 Their hearts toying as with trifles. The wrong-doers conceal their private counsels, (saying), "Is this (one) more than a man like yourselves? Will ye go to witchcraft with your eyes open?" 3 He said: 'My Lord has knowledge of what is said in the heavens and on earth. He is the Hearer, the Knower' 4 Yet they say: "These are only confused dreams," or rather: "He has invented them;" or: "He is only a poet. Let him therefore bring a miracle to us as the earlier (apostles) were sent with." 5 Not a city before them which We destroyed believed; will they then believe? 6 Never did We send a message before you but through a man, whom We inspired. If you do not know, then ask the keepers of the oracles of God. 7 And We made them not bodies not eating food; nor were they to be abiders. 8 Then We made Our promise good to them and delivered whomsoever We pleased, and destroyed the transgressors. 9 And assuredly We have sent down unto you a Book wherein is admonition for you; will ye not then reflect? 10
