Blessed be He Who has placed in the heaven big stars, and has placed therein a great lamp (sun), and a moon giving light. 61 It is He who has made the night and the day, one proceeding the other, for whoever wants to take heed or give thanks. 62 And the bondmen of the Compassionate are those who walk upon the earth meekly and when the ignorants address them, they say peace 63 And who spend the night before their Lord, prostrate and standing, 64 who pray, "Our Lord, save us from the torment of Hell, for its torment is killing: 65 Surely it is an evil abode and (evil) place to stay. 66 And they who when they spend, are neither extravagant nor parsimonious, and (keep) between these the just mean. 67 And those who do not worship any other deity along with Allah, and do not unjustly kill any living thing which Allah has forbidden, nor commit adultery; and whoever does this will receive punishment. 68 doubled for him on the Day of Resurrection is his punishment, and therein he shall live, humbled, 69 except the one who may have repented (after those sins) and have believed and done righteous works, for then Allah will change his evil deeds into good deeds, and He is very Forgiving and Merciful. 70 Those who repent and act righteously have truly returned to God, 71 And they who do not bear witness to what is false, and when they pass by what is vain, they pass by nobly. 72 And they who, when reminded of the communications of their Lord, do not fall down thereat deaf and blind. 73 And those who say: "O Lord, give us comfort in our spouses and children, and make us paragons of those who follow the straight path." 74 These are the ones who will be rewarded with lofty mansions in Paradise, for their steadfastness. They will be received therein with greetings of welcome and salutations of peace. 75 and wherein they will live for ever: what an excellent abode and what an excellent resting place! 76 Say: My Lord would not care for you were it not for your prayer; but you have indeed rejected (the truth), so that which shall cleave shall come. 77
