We were indeed gracious to Moses and Aaron, 114 And rescued them and their people from the great calamity. 115 And We helped them, so that they were the victors; 116 And We vouchsafed unto the twain a Book luminous. 117 And We guided them both on the right way. 118 and left for them among the later folk 119 Peace be unto Moses and Aaron! 120 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 121 Indeed, they were of Our believing servants. 122 And verily, llyas was one of the sent ones. 123 When he said unto his folk: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 124 Do you call on Baal and abandon the Best of Creators, 125 Allah, your Lord and Lord of your forefathers? 126 But they denied him, so they surely will be haled forth (to the doom) 127 except the sincere servants of God. 128 And we left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 129 "Peace and salutation to such as Elias!" 130 It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good: 131 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 132 And indeed, Lot was among the messengers. 133 We saved him and all his kinsmen, 134 except for an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 Verily, ye pass by their (sites), by day- 137 Or at night. Then how is it you do not understand? 138

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
