Nay, and by the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 A warning unto humankind 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 about the guilty ones: 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
