The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and gathered his people together 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
