And recite to them the news of Abraham, 69 When he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He asked, "Do they hear you when you call to them? 72 Or do they profit you or cause you harm? 73 They replied, "But we found our fathers doing the same." 74 He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 Who created me and showed me the way, 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 “And when I fall ill, so it is He Who heals me.” 80 And He Who shall cause me to die, and then shall quicken me. 81 And who, I hope, will condone my faults on the Day of Judgement. 82 My Lord! Vouchsafe me wisdom and unite me to the righteous. 83 and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me, 84 “And make me among the inheritors of the Gardens of serenity.” 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 “And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised.” 87 The day on which property will not avail, nor sons 88 except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart; 89 And the garden shall be brought near for those who guard (against evil), 90 And hell will be revealed for the astray. 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 besides God? Will the idols help you? Can they help themselves?" 93 So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators 94 and the hosts of Iblis, all together. 95 And they, while contending therein, shall say: 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 Now we have no intercessors, 100 Nor a true friend; 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
