We saved the Children of Israel from their humiliating torment 30 from Pharaoh, who ranked high in sin, 31 And certainly We chose them, having knowledge, above the nations. 32 And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial 33 Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying, 34 there is nothing beyond our first death; we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring back our fathers, if ye speak the truth! 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them because they were indeed Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals, etc.). 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is in-between the twain sporting. 38 We created them not except with truth (i.e. to examine and test those who are obedient and those who are disobedient and then reward the obedient ones and punish the disobedient ones), but most of them know not. 39 The Day of Final Decision is the appointed time for all; 40 the Day when a friend shall be of no avail to his friend nor shall they be helped, 41 except those on whom Allah will have mercy. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 42
