And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk, 10 the nation of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Me' 11 He said: "My Lord! I fear that they will brand me a liar. 12 and my breast will be straitened, and my tongue will not be loosed; so send to Aaron. 13 As for me, they hold the charge of a crime against me. I fear they will put me to death." 14 He said: 'Never so, go both of you with Our signs; We shall be with you, listening 15 Go, then, to Pharaoh and say to him: 'The Lord of the Universe has sent us 16 [Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'" 17 (Pharaoh) said: "Did we not cherish thee as a child among us, and didst thou not stay in our midst many years of thy life? 18 You spent many years of your life among us and then you committed that deed of yours. You are very ungrateful indeed." 19 He said: I did it then, when I was of those who are astray. 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord vouchsafed me a command and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by Him). 21 And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 The Pharaoh asked, "Who is the Lord of the Universe?" 23 Moses replied, "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you want to be certain". 24 Said [Pharaoh] unto those around him: "Did you hear [what he said]?" 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients.' 26 Said Firaun, “This (Noble) Messenger of yours, who has been sent towards you, has no intelligence!” 27 (Moses) said: "The Lord of the East and the Lord of the West and all that lies between them, if you have sense." 28 Pharaoh said, "If you put forward any god other than me, I will surely put you in prison". 29 'What, even if I brought you something clear' said he (Moses). 30 The Pharaoh replied, "Bring it, if you are telling the truth." 31 He cast down his staff and thereupon it was a clear serpent. 32 And he drew forth his hand and lo! it was white to the beholders. 33
