Say (unto them, O Muhammad): I am only a warner, and there is no Allah save Allah, the One, the Absolute, 65 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Almighty, the All-Forgiving!" 66 Say: “This is a tiding of tremendous import 67 "From which ye do turn away! 68 [Say, O Muhammad:] "No knowledge would I have had of [what passed among] the host on high when they argued [against the creation of man,] 69 I am told (about matters) by means of revelation only because I am a clear warner.” 70 When thy Lord said to the angels, 'See, I am creating a mortal of a clay. 71 and when I have formed him fully and breathed My spirit into him, prostrate yourselves before him." 72 The angels prostrated themselves, all of them. 73 Saving Iblis; he was scornful and became one of the disbelievers. 74 (Allah) said: "O Iblis (Satan)! What prevents you from prostrating yourself to one whom I have created with Both My Hands. Are you too proud (to fall prostrate to Adam) or are you one of the high exalted?" 75 He said: I am better than him. Thou createdst me of fire, whilst him Thou didst create of clay. 76 Said He: "Go forth, then, from this [angelic state] - for, behold, thou art henceforth accursed, 77 Upon thee shall rest My curse, till the Day of Doom.' 78 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "My Lord! Give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are resurrected." 79 He (Allah) said: 'You are among those that are respited 80 Till the period of the time made known. 81 He said, "By Your Honour, I will lead all of them astray, 82 “Except Your chosen bondmen among them.” 83 (God) said: "This is right by Me, and what I say is right. 84 That I shall fill Hell with thee and such of them as shall follow thee, all together. 85 (O Prophet), tell them: “I do not ask you for any recompense for the performance of this task; nor am I given to affectation. 86 This is nothing else but a reminder to all the worlds, 87 You will certainly know its truthfulness after a certain time. 88
