Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Indubitable! 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Then do you see of them any remains? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 on that Day shall that indubitable event come to pass; 15 And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. 16 And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 in an exalted garden 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 But as for him whose record shall be placed in his left hand, he will exclaim: "Oh, would that I had never been shown this my record, 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 “Alas, if only it had been just death.” 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 Nor any food save filth 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
