Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

HaMeem. 1 This is a revelation from the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, 2 A Book whose verses have been distinguished and explained, a lucid discourse for people who understand, 3 A herald of good news and a warner, but most of them turn aside so they hear not. 4 They say: "Our hearts are under veils, (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and in our ears is a deafness, and between us and thee is a screen: so do thou (what thou wilt); for us, we shall do (what we will!)" 5 Say: "I am a man like you, (but) it is revealed to me that your God is one God, so take the straight path to Him, and ask Him to forgive your sins. Woe to the idolaters 6 Who give not the poor-rate; and they! in the Hereafter, they are disbelievers. 7 The righteously striving believers will have a never-ending reward". 8
