The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He created the human being 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
