a large group of the earlier people 39 and a good many of later times. 40 And those on the left hand: What of those on the left hand? 41 Amidst scorching wind and scalding water. 42 in the shadow of a smoking blaze, 43 Neither cool nor agreeable. 44 Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluence, 45 And were stubborn upon the great sin of disbelief. 46 and would say: "What! After we have died and become mere dust and bones, shall we, forsooth, be raised from the dead? 47 And our forefathers [as well]?" 48 Say thou: verily the ancients and those of later generations: 49 "All will certainly be gathered together for the meeting appointed for a Day well-known. 50 Then verily ye, O ye erring, denying people. 51 "Ye will surely taste of the Tree of Zaqqum. 52 Fill your bellies with it, 53 "And drink boiling water on top of it, 54 You shall drink it as the thirsty camels drink." 55 Such shall be your hospitality on the Day of Recompense. 56 We have created you, then why would you not confirm it? 57 Do ye then see?- The (human Seed) that ye throw out,- 58 Do you create it, or We are its creator? 59 We have decreed among you Death; We shall not be outstripped; 60 from changing your Forms and creating you (again) in (forms) that ye know not. 61 And verily ye know the first creation. Why, then, do ye not reflect? 62 Have you considered what you sow? 63 Is it you who cause them to grow or do We? 64 Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry powder, and ye would be left in wonderment, 65 Lo! we are laden with debt! 66 Nay! we are deprived. 67 And have you seen the water that you drink? 68 Is it you that send it down from the clouds, or are We the senders? 69 If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not grateful? 70 Have you considered the fire which you strike? 71 Is it you who have brought into being the tree that serves as its fuel - or are We the cause of its coming into being? 72 It is We who have made it a means to remind [you of Us,] and a comfort for all who are lost and hungry in the wilderness [of their lives]. 73 So glorify the name of your Lord, the Supreme. 74

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
ColorfulQuran.com's English translation loads a random set of translators with equal probability, one translator for each verse. If you have difficulty understanding an interpretation, tap on the page number to reload it with a different set of translators. You may find it clearer, God willing. ColorfulQuran.com does not endorse or prefer any particular translation over another and displays it only for information.
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of four Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-fourth chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
