The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Recite: And thy Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 for he thinks himself self-sufficient. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Does he, then, not know that God sees [all]? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 and then let him summon [to his aid] the counsels of his own [spurious] wisdom, 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh. ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.
