۞ But those who do not believe that they are destined to meet Us are wont to say: "Why have no angels been sent down to us?" - or, "Why do we not see our Sustainer?" Indeed, they are far too proud of themselves, having rebelled [against God's truth] with utter disdain! 21 On the Day when they behold the angels, there will be no glad tidings for the sinners. They will say: 'A refuge which is forbidden' 22 And We will proceed to what they have done of deeds, so We shall render them as scattered floating dust. 23 The dwellers of Paradise on that day will have the best residence and resting place. 24 And the day when the sky will be split asunder with clouds and the angels will be sent down in full. 25 The real sovereignty will belong to Ar-Rahman. How grievous will be the day for the infidels! 26 And the day when the unjust will gnaw his hands, saying, “Alas, if only I had chosen a way along with the (Noble) Messenger (of Allah)!” 27 "Ah! Woe to me! Would that I had never taken so-and-so as a friend! 28 He led me away from the true guidance after it had come to us. Satan is a traitor to people." 29 Then the Messenger will say: "O my Lord! Truly my people took this Qur'an for just foolish nonsense." 30 And thus have We made for every prophet an enemy from among the criminals. But sufficient is your Lord as a guide and a helper. 31 The unbelievers say: "Why was the whole Qur'an not sent down all at once to him?" It was sent thus that We may keep your heart resolute. So We enunciated it by steps and distinctly. 32 And they bring thee no similitude but We bring thee the Truth (as against it), and better (than their similitude) as argument. 33 Those who will be dragged on their faces towards hell – theirs is the worst destination and they are the most astray. 34
