Noah called to Us, and We are the Best to answer. 75 We saved him and his people from the great distress, 76 And We preserved his descendants. 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 Peace on Noah among all men. 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Then We drowned the disbelievers. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 And he cast a look at the stars 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 and he turned to their idols and asked them, "Do you eat? 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. 94 He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve, 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son.” 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering); 103 We called out to him, "Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 Peace be with Abraham. 109 That is how We reward those who do good. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
