The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I swear by the mansions of the stars, 1 And by the Day promised, 2 By one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness;- 3 destroyed were the people of the trench, 4 Full of fire fed by faggots, 5 When they sat by it, 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 And what did they dislike from the Muslims, except that the Muslims accepted faith in Allah the Most Honourable, the Most Praiseworthy? 8 to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and earth. And Allah is the Witness of all things. 9 Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. 10 [But,] verily, they who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall [in the life to come] have gardens through which running waters flow - that triumph most great! 11 Indeed the seizure of your Lord is very severe. 12 Verily He! He it is who beginneth and repeateth it. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 Effecter of what He intends. 16 Has there reached you the story of the soldiers - 17 of Pharaoh and of Thamood? 18 In fact, the disbelievers had always rejected (Our revelations). 19 Allah encompasses them all from behind. 20 Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an, 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22
