The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 it is no merriment. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 Therefore give them some respite give them some time. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
