Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
