Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say: 'It has been revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, then they said, "We have indeed heard a Koran wonderful, 1 Which guides to the right path; and we have come to believe in it, and will not associate any one with our Lord. 2 our Lord is too exalted to have either a wife or son. 3 The dimwit one (the devil) among us has been telling confused lies about God. 4 and that “we had thought that men and jinn would never speak a lie about Allah”, 5 and that “some from among the humans used to seek protection of some among the jinn, and thus they increased the arrogance of the jinn”; 6 They thought, as you did, that God would never raise up anyone from the dead. 7 'And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. 8 we used to take up a position to listen, but whoever listens now finds a flaming fire lying in wait for him -- 9 And we know not whether harm is boded unto all who are in the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth guidance for them. 10 Some of us are righteous, but some are otherwise, we are sects that differ. 11 We realised that we could not weaken the power of God on earth, nor outpace Him by running away. 12 And that when we heard the guidance, we believed in it; so whoever believes in his Lord, he should neither fear loss nor being overtaken (by disgrace): 13 Some of us are obedient while others are wrongdoers; it is the obedient who have found the right path, 14 And as to the deviators, they are fuel of hell: 15 If they had followed the Path We would give to them abundant water to drink, 16 That We may test them thereby, and whoso turneth away from the remembrance of his Lord; He will thrust him into ever-growing torment. 17 All the parts of the body to be placed on the ground during prostration belong to God. 18 Do not prostrate before anyone other than Him. When the servant of God (Muhammad) preached (his message) the jinn would all crowd around him. 19
