Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
