The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
