The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Praise be to Allah Who has revealed to His servant the Book devoid of all crookedness; 1 right, to warn of great violence from Him, and to give good tidings unto the believers, who do righteous deeds, that theirs shall be a goodly wage 2 wherein they shall abide for ever; 3 And that it may warn those who say: "God has begotten a son." 4 (A thing) whereof they have no knowledge, nor (had) their fathers, Dreadful is the word that cometh out of their mouths. They speak naught but a lie. 5 Then maybe you will kill yourself with grief, sorrowing after them, if they do not believe in this announcement. 6 Indeed, We have made that which is on the earth adornment for it that We may test them [as to] which of them is best in deed. 7 And most surely We will make what is on it bare ground without herbage. 8 Did you know that the People of the Cave and People close to the Woods, were Our exceptional signs? 9 When the young men sought refuge in the cave, they said, "Our Lord, grant us Your special mercy and give us right guidance in our affair." 10 Then We smote their ears many years in the Cave. 11 and thereafter We revived them to find out which of the two parties could best calculate the length of their stay. 12
