Said the eminent among the people of Pharaoh, "Indeed, this is a learned magician 109 “He wishes to expel you all from your kingdom; so what do you advise?” 110 They said, “Stop him and his brother, and send announcers to the cities to gather people.” 111 To bring each knowing wizard unto thee. 112 And the magicians came to Pharaoh. They said, "Indeed for us is a reward if we are the predominant." 113 Answered [Pharaoh]: "Yes; and verily, you shall be among those who are near unto me." 114 They said, "Moses, will you first throw, or shall we?" 115 He replied, "Throw yours first." Their great magic bewitched people's eyes and terrified them. 116 And We inspired Moosa that, “Put forth your staff”; it immediately began swallowing up their fabrications. 117 ۞ So, the truth prevailed and what they were doing was annulled; 118 Pharaoh and his men were defeated and utterly humiliated. 119 And the wizards fell down prostrate, 120 Saying: "We believe in the Lord of the Worlds,- 121 The Lord of Moses and Aaron." 122 Said Pharaoh, "You believed in him before I gave you permission. Indeed, this is a conspiracy which you conspired in the city to expel therefrom its people. But you are going to know. 123 "Surely, I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, then I will crucify you all." 124 They answered: "We have (in any case) to go back to our Lord. 125 "And you take vengeance on us only because we believed in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.) of our Lord when they reached us! Our Lord! pour out on us patience, and cause us to die as Muslims." 126
