AND, INDEED, We have set up in the heavens great constellations, and endowed them with beauty for all to behold; 16 and We have guarded it from every accursed devil: 17 so that anyone who seeks to learn [the unknowable] by stealth is pursued by a flame clear to see. 18 As for the earth, We have stretched it out and have cast on it firm mountains, and have caused to grow in it everything well-measured. 19 and there appointed for you is a livelihood, and for those you do not provide. 20 For, no single thing exists that does not have its source with Us; and nought do We bestow from on high unless it be in accordance with a measure well-defined. 21 And We send the winds fertilizing (to fill heavily the clouds with water), then caused the water (rain) to descend from the sky, and We gave it to you to drink, and it is not you who are the owners of its stores [i.e. to give water to whom you like or to withhold it from whom you like]. 22 And surely, it is We who give life and make to die. We are the Inheritor. 23 And certainly We know those of you who have gone before and We certainly know those who shall come later. 24 and it is your Lord who will gather them. He is Wise, Knowing. 25
