And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 when he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said: We worship idols, and are ever devoted unto them. 71 He said: Do they hear you when ye cry? 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said: "Have you considered what you have been worshipping, 75 “You and your forefathers preceding you.” 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 "Who has created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 "And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink. 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 and who will cause me to die and then will bring me back to life 81 and who I am eager shall forgive me my offence on the Day of Doom. 82 O Lord, give me wisdom and admit me among the righteous, 83 And ordain for me a goodly mention among posterity 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Paradise of Delight; 85 and forgive my father, for he was among the astray. 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 The Day when neither wealth nor sons shall benefit 88 [and when] only he [will be happy] who comes before God with a heart free of evil!" 89 And Paradise will be brought close for the pious. 90 and the Fire will be uncovered for those who strayed, 91 And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship 92 Instead of Allah? Can they help you or help themselves? 93 The idol worshippers, the idols, the rebellious ones, 94 and the hosts of Iblis - all together. 95 There they will quarrel with one another and the erring ones will say (to their deities): 96 "We were clearly misguided 97 When We held you (false gods) as equals (in worship) with the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 98 “And none misled us but the guilty.” 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 Nor a true friend; 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 103 surely, your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 104
