The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 and gathered his people together 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
