The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 and so am I: 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
