(Moses) said: My Lord! relieve my mind 25 And make my affair easy to me, 26 Unloose the knot upon my tongue, 27 so that they may understand my speech, 28 Appoint for me a henchman from my folk, 29 "Harun (Aaron), my brother; 30 Strengthen my back by him, 31 And let him share my task, 32 That we may sing Your praises much, 33 And remember you a great deal. 34 Surely, Thou art seeing us. 35 He answered: "Granted is your prayer, O Moses. 36 And assuredly We conferred a benefit on thee another time. 37 when We revealed what was to be made known to your mother, 38 "Cast him into the ark, and cast him into the river, and let the river throw him up on the shore. An enemy of Mine and his shall take him." And I loaded on thee love from Me, and to be formed in My sight, 39 when thy sister went out, saying, "Shall I point you to one to have charge of him?" So We returned thee to thy mother that she might rejoice, and not sorrow. Then thou slewest; a living soul, and We delivered thee out of grief, and We tried thee with many trials. Many years among the people of Midian thou didst sojourn, then camest hither, Moses, according to a decree. 40 I chose you for Myself. 41 Go thou and thy brother with My signs, and slacken not in remembrance of Mine. 42 "Go, both of you, to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds; 43 Then say to him a gentle saying; haply he may be admonished or he may fear. 44 They said: "O our Lord, we are really frightened lest he behave insolently with us or become violent." 45 (The Lord) said: "Be not afraid. I am verily with you, and I hear and see. 46 Go, then; you two unto him and say, 'Behold, we are apostles sent by thy Sustainer: let, then, the children of Israel go with us, and cause them not to suffer [any longer]. We have now come unto thee with a message from thy Sustainer; and [know that His] peace shall be [only] on those who follow [His] guidance: 47 Surely it has been revealed to us that the chastisement will surely come upon him who rejects and turns back. 48 Pharaoh said, "Who then is the Lord of you both, Moses?" 49 'Our Lord' he replied, 'is He Who gave everything its creation and then guided it' 50 He said: What then is the state of the generations of old? 51 He said, “Their knowledge is with my Lord, (recorded) in a Book; my Lord neither strays nor forgets.” 52 The One Who has made the earth a bed for you and kept operative roads for you in it and sent down water from the sky; so with it We produced different pairs of vegetation. 53 Eat (for yourselves) and pasture your cattle: verily, in this are Signs for men endued with understanding. 54
