The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 By the angels driving away. 2 and conveying [to all the world] a reminder: 3 Indeed your God is surely only One. 4 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, and the Sustainer of all the points of sunrise! 5 Behold, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with the beauty of stars, 6 And to protect it from every rebellious devil. 7 They cannot listen to the exalted assembly, and they are darted at from every side. 8 and are repelled. Theirs is an unceasing chastisement. 9 Except one who snatches [some words] by theft, but they are pursued by a burning flame, piercing [in brightness]. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 But you wonder, while they mock, 12 And, when they are admonished, pay no heed,- 13 and, when they see a sign, would scoff; 14 it and say, "It is only plain magic". 15 "What! When we have died and become dust and bones, will we be brought back to life again, 16 What, and our forefathers, the ancients' 17 Say: Aye! and you shall be abject. 18 The Day of Judgment will come within a single roar and they will remain gazing at it. 19 And they will say: Ah! woe be unto us! this is the Day of Requital. 20 [It will be said], "This is the Day of Judgement which you have been denying." 21
