And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders. 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great affliction. 76 and We made his offspring the survivors. 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 Salamun (peace) be upon Nuh (Noah) (from Us) among the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!" 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. 82 ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Would you serve false deities instead of God? 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he glanced a glance on the stars. 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Thereupon he approached their gods stealthily and said, "What! You do not eat [of the offerings placed before you]? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire. 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 you have confirmed your vision' As such We recompense the gooddoers. 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail peace be upon them is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times. 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 110 He was one of Our believing worshipers. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
