SAY [O Muhammad]: "I am only a warner; and there is no deity whatever save God, the One, who holds absolute sway over all that exists, 65 "The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all between,- Exalted in Might, able to enforce His Will, forgiving again and again." 66 Say: "This is a message tremendous: 67 [how can] you turn away from it?" 68 I had no knowledge of the Highest Chiefs when they disputed; 69 This alone is revealed to me, I am only a clear warner' 70 (Remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "Truly, I am going to create man from clay". 71 and when I give it proper shape and blow My spirit into it, bow down in prostration to him," 72 Then the angels bowed before him in a body, 73 save Iblis: he gloried in his arrogance, and [thus] became one of those who deny the truth. 74 (Allah) said: "O Iblis! What prevents thee from prostrating thyself to one whom I have created with my hands? Art thou haughty? Or art thou one of the high (and mighty) ones?" 75 Satan replied, "I am better than him. You created me from fire, but You created him from clay." 76 He said: Then get out of it, for surely you are driven away: 77 and My rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 78 Satan said: “My Lord, then grant me respite till the Day that they are raised up.” 79 Allah said: verily, thou art of those respited. 80 till the Day whose Hour I know.” 81 He said: by Thy majesty, then, I shall surely seduce them, all. 82 Except Thy servants from among them, the purified ones. 83 Allah said: the truth is, and it is the truth that I speak 84 [That] I will surely fill Hell with you and those of them that follow you all together." 85 Say thou: I ask of you for it no hire, nor am I of the affecters. 86 This [divine writ,] behold, is no less than a reminder to all the worlds — 87 and you will most certainly grasp its purport after a lapse of time!" 88
