Did you (O Muhammad SAW) observe him who turned away (from Islam). 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
