The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 The People on the Right: and how fortunate will be the People on the Right! 8 And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands), Who will be those on the Left Hand? (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell). 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 Who will be honoured 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 13 And a few from the latter. 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 and fair maidens with large, lustrous eyes 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 They will hear no nonsense there or talk of sin, 25 but only the saying: 'Peace, Peace' 26 The Companions of the Right 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 and spreading shade 30 and waters gushing, 31 And fruits numberless, 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 And couches raised up. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 So made them as maidens. 36 Lovers, friends, 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
