Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
