Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By oath of those that sprint, breathing heavily. (The horses used in Holy War.) 1 Then those striking sparks of fire, 2 by the dawnraiders, 3 So thereupon raising dust. 4 And penetrate forthwith into the midst (of the foe) en masse;- 5 Truly man is, to his Lord, ungrateful; 6 and he himself is a witness to that, 7 And indeed he is ardent for the love of good (wealth, becoming greedy). 8 ۞ Does he not know that on the day when those in the graves are resurrected 9 and all that is [hidden] in men's hearts is bared 10 Indeed, their Lord with them, that Day, is [fully] Acquainted. 11
