We also favoured Moses and Aaron, 114 And We saved them and their people from the great affliction, 115 And We helped them, so that they were the victors; 116 and We gave them the Clear Book, 117 and guided them the straight way, 118 And We left for them [favorable mention] among later generations: 119 Salamun (peace) be upon Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)!" 120 Even thus do We reward the doers of good. 121 Indeed, they were of Our believing servants. 122 And lo! Elias was of those sent (to warn), 123 Behold, he said to his people, "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 124 Do you worship Ba`al and abandon the Best Creator. 125 who is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?" 126 In response they denied him, so they will surely be brought forth as captives. 127 But not the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 128 We preserved a good name for him among posterity. 129 Peace be on Elias. 130 It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good: 131 Lo! he is one of our believing slaves. 132 And verily, Lout (Lot) was one of the Messengers. 133 when We delivered him and his people all together, 134 Except an old woman (his wife) who was among those who remained behind. 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 You pass by (their habitations) in the morning 137 And by night: will ye not understand? 138
