Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
