Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad)? 24 When they came to him, they said: “Peace”; he said: “Peace also be to you; (you seem to be) a group of strangers.” 25 Then he turned away privately unto his household, and brought a calf fatted. 26 And placed it before them.. he said, "Will ye not eat?" 27 And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy. 28 And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman!" 29 "Such is the will of your Lord," they replied. "He is the Wise, the All Knowing." 30 ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” 31 They said, "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin;- 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 Marked, from before thy Lord, for the extravagant. 34 Then we brought forth such believers as were there. 35 We therefore found just one house over there that was Muslim. 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 but he turned his back with his Assembly, saying: 'He is (either) a sorcerer or a mad man' 39 We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed. 40 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind 41 which turned everything it approached into dust. 42 And in Thamud, when We said to them: "Enjoy yourselves for a while;" 43 But they rebelled against their Lord's decree, and so the thunderbolt overtook them even while they gazed; 44 And neither stand up nor defend themselves. 45 And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient. 46
