Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 roasting at a scorching fire, 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 In a Garden on high, 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 Goblets set, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
