Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha. Mim. 1 This (Qur’an) is sent down from the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 2 A Book whose verses have been detailed, an Arabic Qur'an for a people who know, 3 It contains glad news and warnings (for the people), but most of them have ignored it and do not listen. 4 And they say: "Our hearts are under coverings (screened) from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a screen, so work you (on your way); verily, we are working (on our way)." 5 Say, O [Muhammad], "I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is but one God; so take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." And woe to those who associate others with Allah - 6 who do not pay zakat and have no faith in the life to come. 7 As to those who have faith and do good works, surely theirs shall be a never-ending reward. 8
